What's new

School Planner keeps getting better

A running log of what we've done — small fixes, big features, and everything in between.

  1. May 2026

    • New

      Parent schedule alongside kids'

The parent's schedule can now be shown alongside the kids' schedules, so you can see everyone's day in one place.

    • New

      Copy courses to other accounts

Courses can now be copied between all accounts. Copies stay independent of each other from then on, so changes in one don't affect the other.

    • Improved

      Left panel navigation

Clicking on courses or students now takes you straight to them, saving clicks. Returning to the dashboard is smoother too.

  2. April 2026

    • New

      Redesigned parent dashboard

The all-in-one view used to feel crowded. The redesign gives you a cleaner, more modern layout with more useful information at a glance.

    • New

      Timeline progress

Instead of a plain progress bar for each subject, progress is now laid out like a timeline so it better reflects the school year.

    • New

      Grades visualization

Grades are now shown graphically for each student so you can quickly see how they're doing.

    • New

All kids' schedules in one view

You can now see every child's schedule at once. Before, you could only view one child at a time — now you get a proper overview of the day.

    • Improved

      Assignment filters

Filter the list of assignments by Overdue, Needs Marking, and more to focus on what needs your attention.

  3. March 2026

    • New

      Manual scheduling

On top of automatic scheduling, you can now drag and drop manually — matching the workflow of other calendars you may be used to.

    • Improved

      Completed assignments stay put

If you change the current schedule, completed assignments from before stay where they were by default, so your history stays accurate.

    • Improved

      Early phone support

The layout is dramatically better on smaller screens. There's more to do here, but it's a big leap forward for planning on your phone.

    • Improved

      Hide the side panel

The left side panel can now be hidden to make the calendar bigger. Press F11 for full-screen mode for even fewer distractions.

    • Improved

      Reimagined Generate tab

No more 'code' required for auto-incrementing numbers. Right-click in a text field to add incrementing text from the context menu.

  4. February 2026

    • Improved

      Touch screen support

Touch support in the browser is much better. You can now plan comfortably on iPads and Android tablets too.

    • Improved

      More visual information

Day view now shows start and end times for each assignment, and Month view shows whether an assignment is finished without opening it.

    • New

      No email required for students

Student accounts can be created without an email address — especially helpful for younger kids.

  5. January 2026

    • New

Platform support: Windows, macOS & web

School Planner now runs on Windows, macOS, and right in your web browser. Give it a try today without installing anything.

    • New

      Reschedule to catch up

Students are prompted to resolve late assignments, and the schedule adjusts to help them get back on track.

    • New

      Hidden URLs in text

Use the format URL"Visible text" (or with a space) to hide URLs behind friendlier text. URLs show in blue and visible text in red so the syntax stays intuitive.
